How to Cook a Great Steak!
Porterhouse
olive oil
salt and pepper
olive oil
salt and pepper
INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat oven at 375F for about 30min while the oven is warming up place steaks in shallow dish. Drizzle with olive oil; rub oil all over steaks. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Let stand at room temperature 30min - 1 hour.
When ready to cook
Oil heavy skillet over high heat, once you see the slight hint of smoke that is when you place the steak, my choice Porterhouse.
Let it brown for good 4-5 min, depending on the size of the steak, you can also cheat by lifting the meat. Once it's browned to your liking flip wait one min and place in the oven for about 7-10min.
Tips:
You can tell the meat is done by putting some pressure with your fingertip (carefuller not to burn your fingers) when it feel firm yet bouncy its good to go. Also let the meat rest on a plate for a good 10 min, this way when you cut the meat the juice will reabsorb back into its fibers.
AND lastly DO NOT i repeat DO NOT be a CHEAP ASS when buying a steak, A good steak is like sashimi there is not such thing as cheap steak!
