Head over to Chelsea next Monday, May 12th, for the last program of short films that Rooftop Films will be presenting before the Rooftop Summer Series begins on May 31st. The screening will take place within the lovely halls of Chelsea Market. There will be no charge for admission and the show is open to all. There will be beer and wine courtesy of Green Table, Jewish Deli Specials courtesy of Ffriedman's Deli , A gelato cart courtesy of L'arte Del Gelato and spring Rolls and vegetable Rolls courtesy of Chelsea Thai.

We're excited about the treats, but the best part of the show will be the films, of course. We've put together a great selection of really fascinating and ground-breaking and innovative animated short films. Though many of these films are dynamic and beautifully composed, these aren't your typical kids' cartoons--these are poignant, carefully thought out films with big ideas, expressed with elegant animation and featuring brilliant writing. The program includes work by Carson Mell, Adam Parrish King, Ian Gouldstone, Andy Blubaugh, Jesse Epstein, Ian Stewart, Chris Shephard and David Srigley, and long-time Rooftop favorite Lev Yilmaz.
