So I arrive at my favorite of SF's taco trucks, and their prices have gone up. I can only assume that this is because gas has sky-rocketed, and the truck has to drive. Is there no part of life unaffected by oil!? sheeit.
OK, so it means you will have to pay $1.75 for a taco, rather than $1.50. Lime wedges, pickled jalapenos and carrots are free.
I get two, branching out from my usual Al Pastor to try the Carnitas as well. Following the heat on my last post, I sit at a table, but the beauty of these places is that you are on the street corner anyhow. The Al Pastor is delicious, it is full of complex spices and finely diced onions, and stewed till it's practically a paste. So tasty. The Carnitas is much more substantial chunks, and the flavor of the meat itself is more distinct, but it is not as lip-smacking as the Pastor . . . still, they are both pork, so whats to fuss about?
