REVIEWS:
If you want authentic sushi Teriyaki Boy is not the place for you. The sushi rice taste a bit salty, not vinegary enough and easily falls apart and the fish is not the freshest best cut. But if you don’t care about all these things you are in paradise, for $5.99 you get a Rainbow Roll (California Roll wrapped with Tuna, Salmon, Yellow Tail & White Fish) whereas anywhere else will cost you $12. If you are a real Cheap Ass, go for all the maki rolls, for $3 you got 8 pcs of Spicy Tuna Roll. You might say, hey I got better sushi at Trader Joe’s but I am telling you, they make everything here per order, so your sushi comes in room temperature, not 20 degrees colder from the fridge.
Our preferred items here is not the sushi though, it is the Teriyaki stuff. I know I know, there’s no teriyaki sauce in Japan (it’s a cooking technique) but we are talking about big ass bento box so who cares about authenticity. We got the #5 Tokyo Fried Chicken & Tempura combo- 5 pieces of boneless juicy chicken over rice with crunchy shrimp, broccoli and potato tempura for $6.99. Not bad of a deal no wonder they do a lot of take out business. If you got a small stomach go for the platter, for $4.99 you got a Chicken Teriyaki comes with rice and salad.
Again, this place is not for snooty foodie. It’s for people who wanna get a quick, cheap and ok quality fix. The food is ok good. And trust me, their sushi tastes better than any pre-package ones.
