Today we try something very different; actually, we have never try things like this- a Thai Sandwich. For $6 you get a French Baguette/ Whole Wheat sandwich that comes with 7 steam fried veggies- mushrooms, peppers, corn, cabbage, snow peas, carrots and broccoli plus your choice of chicken / beef / tofu. Sounds too simple, no we are not finish yet, here’s the trick that make it Thai- you can pick from one of the three Thai sauces their have and they will stir-fry all the above ingredients in a wok and load them onto your baguette. The result is a super wet big ass sandwich that I don’t know how am I supposed to eat. Indeed, it ends up quite messy.
We got the beef stir-fry in the “White Ginger” sauce that made of sautéed ginger, kaffir lime leaf and green curry paste. It had a sweet curry taste but not spicy at all. The creamy coconut tastes very mellow. The overall taste is very mild and lack of the pungent character of Thai curry. Maybe they did not put fish sauce in it?

Because we have to take pictures of the sandwich we open the foil wrap up and see the sandwich soaked in the juice. And when we try to eat it half of the ingredients fall out. So we rewrap it and I think that’s probably the cleanest way to eat it unless you eat the thing in one big bite.
I don’t really know if I like it or not because of the stir-fry on bread idea, I like the idea and it taste pretty good and quite healthy. I will go back and try the other sauces. The “Black Pearl” with sweet soy sauce (Maggie?) sautéed with scallions and Thai seasoning and the “Pine Grand” sauce with pineapple, grenadine and garlic. Anybody try those? Is that good?
