BIRDIES, Grandma’s Chicken for the people is pretty new to the hood, when we went there it was their fourth month in operation. They use only certified organic & antibiotic free chickens and their staffs are super nice.

I got 3 pieces Crunchy Fried Chicken ($5.95) that consists of two huge thighs and a drumstick. The skin is indeed, very crunchy and flavorful. The batter is not too thick or too thin and the seasoning is more on the Lawry’s side. The meat is very moist and juicy and it is not that greasy at all. Overall very good crunchy fried chicken.

Our friend Richard AKA famous graphic designer got the 3 pieces Country Baked Chicken ($5.95) and a small side of Creamed Spinach ($3.50). The plate comes with two drumsticks and a thigh. The chicken is quite greasy but the meat is super juicy! Richard says it’s the juiciest chickens he has ever eaten in his life. I love the spice rub and the juiciness of the chicken but I wish it’s not that greasy. The Creamy Spinach is a bit disappointed, too heavy on the cream and cannot taste the spinach at all, maybe its supposed to be like that?

Young got the Pulled Jerk BBQ Chicken Sandwich combo with Coleslaw, Pickle and a coke ($8.50). Besides the gigantic bun, the easily fall-apart Jerk Chicken tastes excellente.

Have anybody try their Banana Puddings? I heard its very good.
