Burger Joint is located inside the fanciful midtown hotel Le Parker Meridien, hailed as one of the best burgers in New York. I had to try it for myself and see what the hoopla was about. For $6.50 you get a burger with the works, a pitcher of beer $17 not cheapass but cheap and I think for a bag of fries $3 - $3.50.

The burger was perfect, no wonder there was a line but I didn’t think it was so bad. It moved very fast, I heard stories where the line went out the entrance and all-around the hotel. But I digress, back to the burgers, the meat was juicy tender, but not too tender where it just fall apart, the buns were soft but not soggy, and lastly the tomatoes onion and lettuce was a nice complement (no extra cost). It really reminded me of California burgers, almost like In & Out, but Burger Joint burgers you taste more of the meat where as In & Out the sauce overpowers it, and the size is a little bit bigger (better for my belly).

Overall I enjoyed the atmosphere the crowed was a mix of locals, 9-5ers, foodies and tourist. The dudes working the grill are so cute and very nice, they work very hard all day on their feet, so if you can tip or at least spring a little smile. The wait is way worth it!
