Fanelli's has been serving pub grub in the Soho area since 1922. Once a speakeasy, it is one of the last outposts in the Soho district that doesn’t got contaminated by the posh and ritzy Prada worshipped fashionistas. (another one is Milady's) It is the place to be in the area if you don’t care about all those $300 t-shirts or $5000 handbags. In fact, those fashionista might not even think of stepping in here since the juicy burger will ruin their well-calculated path to anorexity.
Yes, the Beef Burger ($8.75) with cheese (extra 75 cents) is SUPER JUICY. It’s so juicy that IT BURN MY LIPS. Not only me, but also my girlfriend Young, the lady from Dallas sitting at the table next to us all got burnt. Makes me wondering if they put a glob of fat or butter inside the meat patties to makes it juicy and grill it on high heat. I personally believe there’s no way ground beef will get to that point of squeezing out oil while you bite into it. Who knows? Maybe they use 60/40 ground beef?

The beef is definitely good quality meat (but not as good as Burger Joint @ Le Meridien or Corner Bistro). I am not the big fan of the double-sided toasted onion buns they use. The buns hold the shape pretty well but the toasted onion flavor is a bit too distracting.
Overall the food is great but not super fantastic. However if you are in Soho for sure to step into this self-titled the "second oldest continuous food and drink establishment in New York City”, I guarantee you the people in Fanelli’s are more real than the posh people in the fish tank outside.
