Allowed me to relive my childhood memories. When I was a kid I always went groceries shopping with my GrandMa and every time we will buy shitloads of stuff and put those in our wheeled cart and take public transportation home. I am not talking about supermarkets I am talking about open air market that you can tell the butcher to cut certain parts of raw pigs’ meat hanging outside in hot humid Hong Kong summer or pick your own live chicken and dude will kill it fresh for you.
My treats for helping out is 德興隆, which they have delicious “ToFu Fa” (Cantonese) or “Dofu Nao” (Mandarin)- a dessert made with an extra soft form of tofu. They serve it either hot or cold and is priced very “neighborhoodly” at we says in Hong Kong at USD 64 cents per bowl.

德興隆 is situated inside the street market, right behind a vendor that sells Bra and Women’s underwear. If you cannot stand the real Hong Kong congestion and is an anal hygiene freak don’t go there.
Another MUST TRY is their Pan-Fried Pork Bun (USD 38 cents), which have been sitting on a cast-iron griddle for long enough time to create a very think, chewy but yet crunchy bottom crust. The pork inside is so juicy that it will squeeze out from your mouth.
Other items on the menu includes, Steamed Beef Bun, Steamed Pork Bun all in the cost of HKD $3 each (USD 38 cents) and healthy daily fresh made soya milk for HKD $4 each (USD 51 cents).
Everytime I went back to Hong Kong I make sure to pay my homage to this place. And I am so happy that the old poster is still hanging for over 20 years.
