There are over millions of ramen shops in Tokyo and most without English menus but no need to worry most of the ramen shops we encountered in Tokyo have pictures. Which comes in handy when your hungry and the brain starts to stop functioning, but another helpful tool we found on our journey is the ticket machine that takes the orders outside. All items on the menu are conveniently adjacent to the appropriate pictures and the number of the entrée making life easy. Once you drop your yen(s), punch in the desired number and prest-o change-o you got your magic ticket to enter the ramen kingdom.
This was easy as pie making the whole process efficient and not so embarrassing ordering with my broken Japanese. After passing over my golden ticket to the chef, the noodles took less then couple of minutes to arrive, most of the ramen are more or the less the same at Kansei Noodle, all are pork base. The noodles are golden yellow, smooth silkily textured and has a nice bounce in each bite, I guess that’s what makes the Japanese ichiban (#1) in the world of ramen.

Kansei Noodle is famous for their perfectly cooked egg, the number 16 is their best seller, each bowl has a par boiled egg with a runny yolk- which is the way most Asian like their egg in ramen.
