I stumbled upon this joint in San Francisco while I was vacationing there. I needed something close to where I was staying and of course, something cheap. Not really sure what to expect at this place, I decided to take a chance (as all good cheap eaters do) and venture on in.

I ordered a dinner combo with daal (lentils) and alu gobi (mixed vegetables). The total was a little over $7. When the pleasant woman handed me my tray, I dove in and was surprised! The lentils seemed to be in some type of yogurt sauce that I've never had before, and the mixed vegetables had just the right amount of spiciness. I wish the rice wasn't cooked in butter, but it was still fresh and soft. The decor isn't ideal. It's dark inside with hardly anything on the walls, but the food came very quickly and was satisfying.
