El Chubasco is no hidden secret, in fact it seems that this little Mexican eatery located in the center of a strip mall, is a must. This casual restaurant offers the best fish tacos in town deep fried with a light batter and topped with shredded cabbage is a essential! Other dishes one must sample are the traditional Mexican specialties, meatball soup and pozole, a hearty soup of hominy, onions, chunks of pork, corn, and a generous garnish of shredded cabbage come with steamed tortillas. Definitely made my cold melt to the floor.
The salsas are plentiful and varied, hard not to pick them all, but favorite is the mango. With its sweet, tropical, and hot pepper elements it’s not to be missed. The pickled jalapeños and carrots found in the salsa bar is a bit on the spicy side but great with the mallow nature of the fish tacos.
