Waffle Hut is one of those 24 hrs place that later on turns into your second home because their food is so great and so consistent. It is situated in Flatwoods- a mountain town with less than 350 populations. Surrounding Waffle Hut are the usual Interstate hwy rest stop big chains like Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and KFC, but obviously the locals have their own favorite, and we were recommended to this restaurant for at least 5 times.

We visited when we have been drinking and dancing to Bluegrass and country music at a local bar called Pete’s Place (one of the best bar experiences in my life). We love their food so much that we went back the next morning and order the same thing!

Their signature dish is the Honey Dipped Country Fried Chicken. The batter is very thin with just the right touch of honey sweetness and the crust is supa crispy, the inside is soooo juicy, we both think that’s the BEST fried chicken we had! We will drive back just for that!
